Hello Dolphin supporters, here is a rundown on how far we’ve got to date, and what lies ahead.

April 11th marked the last day for the Jackson family in The Dolphin (see a few of the locals behind the bar in the photo). We are all grateful for getting to know them over the past few years and we wish them well. It was great to see the pub so full and we hope you will continue to support it in the future.

We understand that the Brewery intend to put a manager in to keep the pub open, but we haven't got a date yet. If we hear anything we will let you know.

A 'for sale' sign will go up soon. Please share the sale information far and wide, we still hope that someone will buy it and open it as a pub. Maybe the power of our wonderful local community will find the new landlord.

Our next steps are to write a business plan. We will also need to put together our vision of the services the pub will offer. There were many brilliant suggestions on the responses we received on the survey and we would love to hear any other ideas to enhance and widen the range of services and events the pub could hold.

Then it’ll be time to start the serious fund raising, We will be looking for investors, so we can go to the brewery and open negotiations. Initially it will be pledges - we will not collect investment monies until we are sure we can make an offer.
